The method
Ecosystem Domination.
A growth cycle for Shopify D2C supplement and wellness brands. Five stages, each feeding the next, built around the two decisions every buyer makes before paying you.
The principle behind it
Same answer. Different equation.
How brands explain it
sin²θ + cos²θ = 1
How buyers understand it
5 − 4 = 1
Both are true. Only one gets bought. Your buyer doesn't care how good your formula is; they care what it does for them. Every hook, page and email we write is in their equation.
Decision 1 · The snap decision
Your buyer decides in 8 seconds, on the couch.
They're scrolling. Your ad appears. In about eight seconds they pass through seven links. Lose them at any one and the sale is gone, however good the product is.
0–2 s
Hook
Stops the scroll with their problem, in their words.
The ad talks about the product.
2–4.5 s
Hold
Feels made for them, so they stay.
Claims every competitor makes.
4.5–5.5 s
Click
“Shop now” feels like the obvious step.
No reason to act today.
5.5–6 s
Load
The page opens before attention breaks.
A slow, heavy page.
6–6.5 s
Match
The page promises what the ad did.
Ad and page tell different stories.
6.5–7.5 s
Cart
The value feels bigger than the price.
Price lands before the value.
7.5–8 s
Checkout
Nothing breaks that feeling.
Surprise costs, extra steps.
The rule behind every link
The value of the product must be higher than the value of the price.
Picture a weighing scale. On one side, the product. On the other, its price. Value is the weight. When the value of the product is higher, the product side goes down and the buyer orders. When the value of the price feels higher, the scale tips the other way and they scroll on.
What adds value to the product side: the result they want, their confidence it will work for them, and how easy it is to buy. Every stage of our work adds weight to that side.
Decision 2 · The second look
Then they take a second look.
Wellness isn't an impulse buy. Before ordering, buyers look again: at reviews, at search, at what other buyers say. What wins that second look is the message, the offer and good answers waiting where they already are, not the platform. Meta, Google, YouTube, Reddit or ChatGPT: we prove one channel first, and add the next only when the numbers hold. Too many at once spreads the budget thin and proves nothing.
- Listen. Where do your buyers already spend attention?
- Start with one. One channel first, usually Meta.
- Prove it. You stay above your profit floor for 7 days in a row.
- Add the next. Google, Reddit, ChatGPT or more, only when step 3 holds. Then repeat.
You don't need to be everywhere. You need one channel that pays, then the next.
The cycle
Five stages. Each one feeds the next.
Like the water cycle, nothing here works alone. Profit funds the message, the message powers the creative, the creative wins the second look on the channels that pay, and reorders raise the profit that funds the next lap.
The Profit Floor
How much can you pay for a customer?
The most you can pay for a customer and still profit.
The Believable Message
Why should a buyer believe you?
One believable reason your product works.
The Angle Lab
What makes them stop and buy?
Angles proven in 48-hour reads.
The Second Look
Where do they check before buying?
One proven channel, then the next.
The Return Loop
Why do they come back?
Every customer worth more each month.
The snap decision
Stages 2 and 3 carry the buyer from hook to checkout.
The second look
Stage 4 answers their doubts on one proven channel, then the next.
Powers the cycle
Stages 5 and 1 turn reorders into a higher budget for the next lap.
Why all five
Miss one stage, and the whole cycle stops.
Your buyer doesn't experience five stages. They experience one brand, from the first ad to the fifth reorder.
- 1Profit Floor
- 2Believable Message
- 3Angle Lab
- 4Second LookMissing
- 5Return Loop
One gap, and growth stops there. Buyers who check find nothing, and leave.
All five, working together
- Sustainable
- Scalable
- Profitable
That's when marketing becomes an investment that compounds, not an expense paid out of your profit.
Stage by stage
What each stage gives your brand.
1
The Profit Floor
How much can you pay for a customer?
Pay more for a customer than your competitors can, and still profit.
What we do
- Map your lifetime value, margin and reorder rate
- Set your Outbid Number (the most you can pay for a customer and still profit) and a profit floor spend never breaks
- Rebuild your offer around subscriptions and bundles
What moves
Max cost per customer · profit per order · order value
The science
Paradigm shift: marketing judged as an asset, on lifetime value, not on the first order. Anchoring: bundles and subscriptions set a higher reference point for price. Brands that judge ads on the first order alone underbid for the customers worth most.
2
The Believable Message
Why should a buyer believe you?
Become the only believable choice in your category.
What we do
- Find the one mechanism that makes your product believable
- Build a claims library that converts and passes review
- Write it in your buyer's words, market by market
What moves
Hook rate · click-through
The science
Processing fluency and low cognitive load: what is easy to understand feels true. Worldview match: buyers accept a message that fits what they already believe about their body. One clear mechanism beats ten claims.
3
The Angle Lab
What makes them stop and buy?
Ads that keep winning, so no single ad carries your month.
What we do
- 45 scripts in month one: 5 angles × 3 hook types × 3 variations
- Read every test in 48 hours; cut losers in days
- Winner DNA: build the next ads from what made the last one win
What moves
Hold rate · cost per purchase
The science
Salience and the pattern interrupt: attention goes to what breaks the feed. Each angle tests one psychological trigger: curiosity, loss aversion, social proof or authority.
4
The Second Look
Where do they check before buying?
Good answers waiting where your buyers look again, one proven channel at a time.
What we do
- Find where your buyers already are: Meta, Google, YouTube, Reddit or ChatGPT
- Prove that channel above your profit floor before adding the next
- A landing page for every winning angle
What moves
Conversion rate · branded search
The science
The mere-exposure effect: familiarity builds trust. Social proof and authority lower the perceived risk of a first order.
5
The Return Loop
Why do they come back?
Every customer worth more each month.
What we do
- Scale inside your profit floor, never past it
- New angles every 4–6 weeks, new audiences side by side
- Reorder direction, so buyers come back without a discount
What moves
Reorder rate · lifetime value
The science
The habit loop (cue, routine, reward) and commitment and consistency: a buyer who sees themselves as "someone who takes care of this" keeps that mindset, and reorders.
The standard we hold
No guessing. Every decision has a number behind it.
15
Days of testing, not 4 to 6 months
We research for 14 days, then test for 15. Most brands test for months before anything works.
48
Hours per read
Every angle is judged on hook rate, click-through, conversion and cost per order within two days.
45
Scripts in month one
So testing has range from day one, and no single idea carries the month.
1
Floor your spend never breaks
Spend rises only after you stay above your profit floor for 7 days in a row.
0
Medical claims
Every script passes our claims library, and you sign off every product claim before it runs.
100%
Of assets stay yours
Positioning, scripts, pages and playbooks belong to your brand, whatever happens.
Next step
Let's make your growth pay for itself.
A 30-minute call. We look at your ads, your pages and your numbers, and tell you plainly where growth is leaking and whether we can help.
